Dear all, pleas note the following atmospheric electricity session at the forthcoming EGU Assembly in Vienna. At the bottom of the message please also find instructions on how to apply for a Conference Grant.
The European Geosciences Union (EGU) General Assembly will be held in Vienna, 7-12 April 2019. We would like to invite to submit an abstract to our session:
Atmospheric Electricity, Thunderstorms, Lightning and their effects (co-sponsored by ASE-AGU) (co-organized)
Convener: Yoav Yair | Co-conveners: R.Giles Harrison , Martino Marisaldi , Serge Soula , Yukihiro Takahashi
This session seeks contributions from research in atmospheric electricity on:
Atmospheric electricity in fair weather and the global electrical circuit
Atmospheric chemical effects of lightning and LtNOx
Middle atmospheric Transient Luminous Events
Energetic radiation from thunderstorms and lightning.
Remote sensing of lightning from space and by lightning detection networks
Results from the Atmosphere-Space Interaction Monitor (ASIM) mission.
Thunderstorms, flash floods and severe weather
Lightning and climate
Modeling of thunderstorms and lightning
Now-casting and forecasting of thunderstorms
New airborne and ground-based observation techniques
Deadline for abstract submission is: 10 January 2019, 13:00 CET (Central European Time). Please don't wait until the last minute :-)
Please note, that if you are from an ITC country our COST Action can cover your conference expenses with a Conference Grant. To learn more about how to apply for a conference Grant, go to
